A talk in the “Testing the Energy Efficiency of Software” track on the final day of QA&TEST Embedded 2025 (22 to 24 October), the international conference on testing embedded and complex systems, organised by SQS in Bilbao.
The talk explained the open source Tech Carbon Standard, a framework many organisations now use to map, measure and reduce the carbon emissions of their technology. It then zoomed in on the test and QA part of the DevOps lifecycle: the role QA engineers can play in measuring and tracking emissions reductions, and how to reduce the impact of QA and testing itself.
