How are you finding SmartBunker? Can you customise their service much? Enough to host a FOSS-only web application?

(can you ping me by email when you're back from the peaks if you answer this, please? hope you're having fun)

Hi Ollie,

One option you haven't considered is using an all-in-one sms gateway like OutboxSMS. It is easy to setup, just fit a SIM card from your local mobile network provider, connect to your LAN, and configure it with your email server. Once it is setup, you send and receive text messages by email.

The link is: http://www.felltech.com/products_email_to_sms.php

Enjoy!

I'm currently using the Clickatell service for sending SMS and it's really great so far.

They have quick support and good documentation.

I've written a gateway system to send SMS. You can see it at http://code.google.com/p/cameolibrary/

Not much to say on that front as I've not really used VMware on Linux (only really used the player version in Windows - although the reason is that I didn't find the Workstation product very easy to use (although I must admit that was quite a while ago). Very pleased with VirtualBox - very easy to get on with and the Guest Extensions allow for really nice seemless integration (like when you resize the VM window it can seemlessly change the resolution of the screen in the Windows Guest OS).

Very interesting - do you have any thoughts on the comparison of virtualbox to VMWare?
